This is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog for Genesis. The hack is named after the Sonic Amateur Games Expo (SAGE) and was submitted to the 2010 convention. There are challenges in the forms of full game playthrough and boss attack. In full game playthrough the HUD can be set to global mode showing the overall records during gameplay. Pepsi in Sonic 1 is a ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog by Unlimited Trees (a.k.a HorriblePerson on Sonic Retro). It is a parody hack of a lot of ROM hacks out there, which is why there are things such as horrible level 'designs', generic palettes, and the usual character switch. This ROM hack features 6 full length zones (plus bonus stages), 3 (+1) playable characters, and many art edits. An Ordinary Sonic ROM Hack Version: 0.1.0 about 1 year ago. Game Soundtrack. Title Screen / Alternate Reality BGM 1 1. Just a few short weeks after SAGE 2019, the Sonic Hacking Contest 2019 site is live! As noted on the site’s main page, account registration is still separate from the Sonic Retro or SSRG forums. However, existing accounts from 2018 should still be live, though to access them, you’ll need to use the password reset before logging in.

An Ordinary Sonic ROM Hack, albeit incomplete, has Sonic trying to make it to the goal, like a normal Sonic game, with one twist: When you first start the level, you can only proceed as normal for. Inspired by the gameplay of “Within a Deep Forest”, an original non Sonic-related game, the hack almost completely redoes the physics so that Sonic will constantly bounce. Other features are screen by screen gameplay as opposed to a scrolling screen, new special stage controls, and the ability to use bridges in Green Hill Zone as trampolines. Sonic 1 Megamix is a ROM hack that essentially takes the levels of the first Sonic game, but throws in characters, physics and moves of the later games (including Chaotix on the 32X). The bland physics and moves on Sonic 1 is my main complaint about the game, so this will be loaded on my GP2X very soon! Download The ROM Patch Video Demo @ Youtube.

Fifty achievements are available by pressing Start on the Overworld. If using a certain emulator available at Sonic Retro the ability to upload results and achievements are available meaning you can compete with other players. So for anybody that plays sonic hacks daily like me, then you also might know that the week for this years sonic hacking contest is nearly right around the corner, but as some do every year, some contestants put up their entries a bit earlier than others and with this one being one of them, this might be something that may be of interest to some. I know it was for me. once again from the ever so great sonic hacker Markeyjester and from the official post as he goes into details about the hack itself, here is what was posted

>>> Blast through powerful air-tubes, >>> around exploding platforms, >>> ride bicycles with anti gravity >>> then get sucked into an empty void and face your enemy!! >>> Have you ever played Sonic The Hedgehog on a different planet?! >>>

Remember the time that I said to you, that I was done? Well guess what, I lied! The initial plan was to submit something to the homebrew contest, a sort of new homebrew ROM I had been working on through the duration of the year. Unfortunately I had the strong suspicion that I would not have it done before the deadline. So, the last three months of the contest were spent on making a Sonic 1 hack specifically for the contest, since I don't normally submit to the contest I felt the urge and necessity to do so.
This hack features a new level with three acts. The artwork is 100% original with exception to the obvious Sonic 1 stuff from the original game. The music on the other hand is not, some of the music is SMPS based, some of it is PCM tracker based using a new special sound driver. I won't name the origins as I have a donation drive going on at Retro, but I shall update them as they are discovered.
And a final note, probably the most important one, the credits (lest we forget):
-> 3rd Act Layout - Gallium Grant.
-> Gameplay Testers - iojnekns, snkenjoi, EditChris
-> Bug finders - DAGarden, qiuu, Selbi, SonicVaan
And a gameplay video from markey himself for those who wants a preview of what it looks like
